Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, blending just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them apart. Chill the dough for 30 minutes if desired.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look soft.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

These cookies can be customized with nuts or dried fruits. For a lighter version, use some unsweetened applesauce instead of butter.
