- 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
- 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
- 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 2 Large Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt
- 2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, blending just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them apart. Chill the dough for 30 minutes if desired.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
These cookies can be customized with nuts or dried fruits. For a lighter version, use some unsweetened applesauce instead of butter.
