Description
A warm and comforting dish that beautifully balances sweet and savory flavors, featuring tender baked pears topped with creamy goat cheese, tart cranberries, and a drizzle of honey.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe pears (Bosc or Anjou)
- 1 cup goat cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 cup cranberries (fresh or dried)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans (optional)
- Fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cut the pears in half, remove the core, and place them cut-side up in a baking dish.
- Crumble goat cheese into each pear half, then sprinkle with cranberries.
- Drizzle honey over the top.
- If using, sprinkle chopped walnuts or pecans over the pears.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the pears are tender.
- Remove the foil for the last 10 minutes of baking to brown the tops slightly. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve warm.
Notes
For deeper flavor, toast the nuts before adding them to the dish. Ensure pears are ripe but firm to prevent mushy texture.
