Delightful baked donuts infused with protein and colorful rainbow sprinkles, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (or whole wheat/almond flour)
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ¾ cup granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
- 2 large eggs (or flax eggs for vegan option)
- ½ cup Greek yogurt (or protein powder)
- ½ cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- ½ cup rainbow sprinkles (with natural colors for a healthier choice)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a donut pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and sugar until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the eggs, Greek yogurt, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, being careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the rainbow sprinkles, saving a few for topping.
- Transfer the batter to a piping bag or a zip-lock bag with a corner snipped off.
- Fill each mold about three-quarters full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow them to cool for a few minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
- Once cooled, drizzle with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and splash of milk, then top with more sprinkles.
Notes
Donuts are best when slightly underbaked for a moist texture. You can refrigerate the batter for later use.
