Ingredients

- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups water or vegetable broth
- Optional: 1/4 cup Parmesan or nutritional yeast
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water to remove excess starch.
- Sauté the garlic in a medium saucepan with olive oil or butter over medium heat until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add turmeric and stir for a few seconds to release its flavors.
- Combine the rinsed rice with the garlic and turmeric mixture, then pour in water or broth and sprinkle with salt.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes until liquid is absorbed.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and let sit covered for 5 minutes before serving.
