Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Heat olive oil in a medium skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the turmeric and let it toast slightly for about 15 seconds.
  5. Combine the rinsed rice with the garlic-turmeric mix in the skillet.
  6. Pour in vegetable broth (or water), seasoning with salt and pepper.
  7. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  8. Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
  9. Fluff with a fork and serve after letting sit for 5 minutes.

Notes

Do not uncover the skillet while the rice cooks to ensure it retains its texture.
